Autonomic computing capabilities are addressing an important obstacle in the IT industry today: complexity. Gartner estimates that 60 to 80 percent of the average company's IT budget is spent on simply maintaining existing applications. Self-managing technologies allow businesses to focus on their core competencies and competitive differentiators, rather than just maintaining existing systems. IBM has hedged its bets on autonomic by making it the cornerstone of on demand computing and today it's moving from vision to reality for many customers. IBM is hosting a panel discussion on April 19 at the IBM San Mateo Innovation Center and would like to invite you to hear from leaders from Stanford University, a local Venture Capitalist firm, Bay-area software companies and an IBM executive on the importance, influence and impact of this technology.
